Bremer Mountain
A little history about Bremer Mountain and Bremer Washington.
Bremer, Washington was established 7 June 1890 with the opening of a post office initiated by George Bremer. The post office was later renamed Cinebar 3 February 1923. Bremer, Wa is now considered an "Ghost Town". Click here for more on Lewis County Ghost towns.
If you drive down our driveway you will see Adam Bremer's headstone (with is quite large) stating he died in 1905 and was 72 yrs old. George Bremer was one of Adam's 4 children, click here for more info.
Bremer still shows up on Google Maps as a town but is now referred to as "Bremer Mountain"
My story.
In 2009, my husband and I along with our two mini dachshunds moved to a 10 acre farm on Bremer Mountain. I had been weaving for a hobby for about a year taking some classes along the way. In 2010 I started my weaving business as "Carolyn's Hand Woven Baskets" with teaching some classes at my home and selling at craft fairs. Word spread about weaving classes and that's all it took, I was teaching more and more. My dining room was my classroom for a year, then in 2012 my wonderful father in law and husband enclosed our carport in to a beautiful basket studio! I am so blessed to have the space to continue weaving, teaching and meeting all kinds of new friends and people. In April this year, I was weaving in my studio and it just came to me..."Bremer Mountain Baskets" I knew it was perfect!
